Drama Society @ Micro_Mutek in Barcelona

Drama Society will perform live at Micro_Mutek reinterpreting the musical score to Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini’s Teorema.
This show is a result of a collaboration between MUTEK.ES and Livesoundracks, a platform promoting audiovisual projects, and will be presented in the nostalgic atmosphere of the Vintage bar.

Running February 17-19, 2010, the 3-day program presents the chance to discover diverse acts and projects, as well as several unique venues around town.

Almodrama On Agoria’s Balance 016

We are very happy to announce that Almodrama, recently published on Drama Society Recordings, has been included Agoria upcoming compilation Balance 016.

The compilation will be released by EQ on March 15th, 2010.

French producer and DJ Agoria has been tapped to mix Balance 016.

As with previous installments of Balance, the compilation will be a multiple disc affair, with an emphasis on variety and clever mixing. Balance 016 will feature an eclectic mix of deep house, techno, disco, classical and pop, including twelve exclusive tracks.

In following with the series’ titular theme, Agoria diversified not only his track selection, but also his mixing style. “I thought that to find the right balance, I needed to use all the ways of mixing. Editing tracks but also letting entire tracks play. Playing 3 or 4 times the same tracks, or spinning some for just a few seconds. Loopy or not. Exclusive, classic or covers, bizarre or easy listening, happy or trippy. 4 tracks together or just one. Loosing the listener for a minute to re-catch him the minute after. Spinning a classical music work of Jonny Greenwood at the peak time. Going up and then down. Starting and finishing with the same tracks.”

Luca Baldini is a talented italian artist based in Berlin who produce just beautiful timeless electronic house music, known in the circuit for his Drama Society project (along with music partner Sergio Ricciardone) and releases for Turbo, Fine and (his brand new) Drama Society Recordings. After the first Hell Yeah release ever Hermann Der Rammler Luca is back with his first fullalbum called Apnea to be released early 2010 on Hell Yeah and this is the apetizer: Hooked is a fat killer groove full of synths and cut up vocals fighting eachother in depth while Icecrash (available on vinyl only) is another super dope slab of electronic funk which already grabbed fans like Laurent Garnier, Tiga, Davide Squillace, who are hammering this since months. This essential 12inch is completed by a superb hard to describe Its a Fine Line rework of Hooked, freaky proto tech-funk: Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris at their inimitable best.

Just Born

Summer 2009.

After six years of Drama Society’s international artistic activity, Drama Society Recordings is born between Turin and Berlin.
Drama Society Recordings is the brand new label founded by Sergio Ricciardone (Club To Club festival art director) and Luca Baldini (solo releasing on Hell Yeah! records).

The triple somersault label logotype represents the will to propose a sound that can be the missing link amongst different genres: techno, experimental techno, electronic and quality house music.

Drama Society Recordings is distributed worldwide, on vinyl and digital download, by Intergroove. Aiming to mix eclectic styles and imaginaries, DSR forthcoming releases will feature various collaborations between different producers and Drama Society, anticipated by the first EP [DSR001] with Vladislav Delay aka Uusitalo.

To believe in the void, to do triple somersaults, is just what we like to do. Drama Society Recordings wants to be both the tightrope and the whirling motion!
